Crypto.com, a popular cryptocurrency exchange headquartered in Hong Kong, has grown by leaps and bounds in terms of its userbase due to its ease of operation and popular products.
Their exchange token, Crypto.com Coin [CRO] can be staked to earn rewards and recently they announced the launch of Crossfire, the Crypto.com Chain mainnet dry run aimed at stress testing the network ahead of a public release. The community was invited to register and become validators on the network.
The top 10 participants, according to their score, will be awarded CRO worth 13,000 USD at the end of the competition. Apart from this, CRO worth 300,000 USD will be rewarded to participants for fulfilling tasks in each phase of the competition. The Crossfire mainnet dry run is a competition running on the Crypto.com Chain network. It has a prize pool of 300,000 USD worth of CRO tokens. Participants are awarded these tokens upon active participation in different tasks in the competition.
The registration period began on 17th December 2020 and will end on 11th January 2021, 12:59 UTC. The maximum number of participants is 200. Interested applicants are invited to apply and successful applicants will be invited via email or Discord to provide their Crypto.com Chain Mainnet address.
Phases of the competition
The registration part is Phase 0 of the competition, and no CRO rewards can be earned in this period. Phase 1 is the validator setup and lasts from 18th January, 4:00 UTC to 25th January, 3:59 UTC.
In this phase, participants can set up their primary nodes, and those able to submit at least one block commitment have a chance at earning some CRO rewards.

Phase 2 requires participants to maintain the primary node stable. It lasts from 24th January, 4:00 UTC to 8th January, 3:59 UTC. Participants with at least 50% uptime may receive CRO rewards. At the end of this phase, a network upgrade will be performed by the participants and those with a successful upgrade may receive rewards.
Phase 3 revolves around network attack and defense. It is active from 8th February 2021, 4:00 UTC to 15th February 2021, 3:59 UTC. Participants are encouraged to launch attacks, as permitted by the Official Rules, during this phase. The primary node ‘uptime’ will affect the score in the Most Valuable Participant category.
These attacks can take the form of colluding with others to censor players’ ability to participate in consensus or exploiting other validators who have misconfigured their set up. Participants are also required to provide a detailed write-up of the observed attacks, such as in this example.

These are the rewards for the top 10 participants by their score at the end of the competition. Apart from this, entry tasks (worth up to 1000 USD each), network upgrades (150 USD each), jackpot prizes (for a total of 10,000 USD), and the network attack bounty program (50,000 USD shared by contributors) are other rewards from competing at the Crossfire event.
Some countries that are on the restricted list are Bangladesh, China, Iran, Iraq, Lebanon, Syria, Libya, Venezuela, and Zimbabwe.
