OpenAI’s flagship artificial intelligence product ChatGPT has become quite popular for its wide range of use cases. The AI-powered chatbot has proven its utility as a tool that helps its users with research, programming, and creative tasks like composing emails, essays etc. First time users tend to stick to simple tasks like having a conversation with the AI bot or using it for coding applications. However, an experienced user can leverage ChatGPT’s power using specific prompts that unlock the chatbot’s full potential, allowing the user to utilize it for a wider range of tasks. Ergo, ChatGPT Training Courses are worth looking at.

Asking ChatGPT About Training

When asked to provide information on training courses for ChatGPT, the AI-powered chatbot laid out a list of resources that would train one for ChatGPT and similar language models. The chatbot revealed that OpenAI provides extensive documentation on how to use language models like the one it developed. OpenAI’s website contains tutorials, guides and examples that cover various topics related to the chatbot.

In addition to that, the OpenAI’s cookbook offers practical recipes and guidelines for training and fine-tuning ChatGPT, covering topics like customizing prompts, system messages, and controlling the output.

ChatGPT also detailed a few external resources that would help a user explore its use cases. These include online communities and forums like Reddit and GitHub, where developers reflect upon their experience with the AI-powered chatbot, revealing tips and tricks to extract maximum value from it. Another option suggested by ChatGPT is online courses and tutorials. This is arguably the most popular choice among those who are not well-versed in programming and technical concepts.

According to ChatGPT, online platforms like Coursera, Udemy and edX are offering courses related to natural language processing (NLP), deep learning, and specifically, training language models that are taught by experts in the field.

ChatGPT Courses On EdTech Platforms

A quick Google search yielded several training courses for those looking to master ChatGPT. Popular edtech platform Udemy is currently offering a ChatGPT masterclass for less than $5. The course, marketed as a complete ChatGPT guide for beginners, focuses on the applications of the AI chatbot in marketing and academic verticals. These include e-commerce use cases, website designing, creative YouTube content, PowerPoint presentations, etc.

Fellow edtech platform Coursera has partnered up with the University of Michigan to offer a free “ChatGPT Teach-Out” course, that focuses on the ethical use of artificial intelligence, the implications of authorship, and how tools like ChatGPT might be utilized and regulated moving forward.

Online publishing platform Medium published a complete beginner guide on ChatGPT earlier this year. The guide introduced newcomers to the use cases offered by ChatGPT, along with information for those looking to fine-tune the chatbot for their specific use case. Fine-tuning of the AI chatbot is possible by training it on a smaller dataset of text that is relevant to the use case.

It is interesting to note that apart from commercial entities offering training and guidance for ChatGPT users, educational institutions are also making sure that their students are well versed in this emerging technology. For instance, Birmingham City University’s official website offers a guide for ChatGPT which informs students about how they can leverage the AI powered chatbot to revise efficiently in order to cut down the revision time. As per the guide, students can use ChatGPT to summarize their notes, test themselves, enhance their creativity by engaging with the chatbot and using it as a tool for chatting or playing word games.

“You can ask Chat GPT to create a song, rap, poem or even a stand-up routine about any topic or piece of text! If you fancy getting away from your desk, Chat GPT can recommend films or a TV show to binge,” the guide read.

DataCamp, a popular destination for those looking to gain proficiency in the field of data science, has also rolled out an introductory training course for ChatGPT. The course teaches users how to write proper prompts in order to generate the highest-quality and most relevant content. Apart from edtech platforms, one can find plenty of videos on YouTube on how to use ChatGPT and fine tune it for specific use cases.

There are separate videos available, depending on what the user wants to use the AI-powered chatbot for. For example, those with absolutely no technical background can opt for a beginner specific tutorials that covers the basics. Those looking for programming and IT use cases will find videos by programmers who have explored what ChatGPT has to offer in that field. Content creators have also put out videos covering how ChatGPT can be used to create a marketing strategy to maximize engagement and audience reach. Bloggers and writers can also find videos on how ChatGPT can be used for creative purposes.

Fine-tuning ChatGPT Results

When prompted to detail how one can fine tune the results, ChatGPT stated that fine-tuning for specific use cases involves training the base model on a custom dataset that is relevant to the user’s target application. This would involve preparing a dataset that is tailored to the specific use case. The dataset would then have to be formatted in a dialogue format, with alternating user and model responses.

Next, the user would have to define the task or objective that is sought from ChatGPT. This would be followed by fine-tuning the pre-trained ChatGPT model, followed by hyperparameter tuning.

Lastly, the user would have to continuously monitor the feedback after deployment. “It’s worth noting that fine-tuning ChatGPT requires substantial computational resources and expertise in machine learning…. I can provide guidance and information, but I can’t fine-tune models or execute specific steps for you,” ChatGPT added.
