Samsung Wallet opens to Solana across 82M devices – But will demand follow?

Samsung’s USDC rollout could push Solana beyond trading by making stablecoin transfers easier for everyday payments.

Samsung Wallet opens to Solana across 82M devices - But will demand follow?

Solana’s stablecoin ecosystem has gained a new consumer distribution channel through Samsung Wallet. Starting in late October, Galaxy users in the United States can send USD Coin [USDC] cross-border directly from their existing wallets.

This removes one major barrier to adoption since users no longer need separate crypto applications for making stablecoin transfers.

Moreover, with this rollout reaching 82 million Galaxy devices in the United States, Solana [SOL] has access to a mainstream audience of users that it did not previously reach.

Regarding this partnership, Bastion will be the custodian providing compliance and cross-border remittance functionality.

In an email to AMBCrypto, Bastion CEO Nassim Eddequiouaq stated, Samsung’s rollout brings stablecoins to millions of U.S. users without exposing them to the underlying custody, compliance, and payment infrastructure.

He further stated that Bastion handles this complexity to keep the experience simple and secure.

If users adopt the feature for regular remittances, this could expand usage of stablecoins. Solana’s stablecoin supply climbed to a record of more than $17 billion, reflecting strong growth in on-chain liquidity as the network continued to expand its settlement activity.

Samsung’s integration may help turn activity into wider consumer adoption.

Coinbase expands USDC access

Building on Solana’s access to over 82 million Galaxy mobile phones, Coinbase is now adding another layer of support for the USDC rollout. By mid-October, USDC will be the first stablecoin that Coinbase has chosen to allow into Samsung Wallet.

The partnership is expanding beyond Solana’s existing access to its network by providing a much larger payment structure. Furthermore, Coinbase will handle the custodial requirements for USDC using Coinbase Prime.

The regulatory custodial framework will also be managed by Bastion.

Users will be able to move USDC to external wallets or directly to bank accounts across more than 60 different countries. Meanwhile, Solana provides settlement with fees near $0.0005, with each transaction taking less than 12–13 seconds for finality.

Coinbase is therefore increasing the integration of USDC with daily payments.

Samsung’s USDC rollout faces adoption test

Samsung’s 82 million-device reach could give USDC a direct path into everyday payments, but distribution alone cannot create demand. However, having access to so many devices does not automatically generate interest.

Therefore, there is no guarantee of success as it relates to increasing demand for USDC.

However, actual usage will depend on whether Galaxy owners repeatedly send USDC after launch. Notably, Solana provides a solid community of users who currently engage in transferring over $280 billion worth of assets every month, with USDC supply near $7 billion.

That activity shows the network can handle large payment flows, but Samsung must add new demand. Therefore, rising wallet transfers would signal that stablecoins are moving beyond trading into payments.

Higher repeat usage and merchant adoption would further strengthen Solana’s role in mainstream cross-border settlement.

Final Summary

  • Solana gains a major consumer channel as Samsung Wallet brings USDC transfers to 82 million U.S. Galaxy devices.
  • SOL needs rising repeat transfers and payment activity to turn Samsung’s reach into lasting stablecoin adoption.
