Raydium’s Open Interest jumps 57% – More fuel or more risk for RAY?

Rising Open Interest leaves one question unanswered: who is building positions against the rally?

Raydium [RAY] extended its bullish advance as price climbed to fresh local highs and buyers maintained their dominance.

The token gained 11% over the past 24 hours. The latest breakout also coincided with a significant increase in activity across spot and derivatives markets.

That combination suggested greater market participation, although it did not establish how much fresh capital entered.

Could buyers keep the momentum going?

What is driving Raydium’s trading surge?

One of the clearest signals in AMBCrypto’s latest analysis was the sharp increase in trading activity around RAY. Open Interest rose 57.4% over 24 hours to $19.6 million, according to Coinalyze, indicating increased outstanding derivatives exposure.

At the same time, Spot Volume surged approximately 260% to $76.38 million, according to CoinGlass’s volume overview. Going hand in hand, Futures Volume increased roughly 314% to $175.69 million, more than quadrupling its previous daily level.

Together, these readings showed that the rally attracted substantially more trading activity. However, Open Interest includes both long and short positions. Its increase alone does not establish that leveraged traders expected further gains.

Can RAY buyers keep their advantage?

RAY’s ability to sustain higher prices depends on buyers maintaining their dominance as profit-taking risks increase.

Higher Spot Volume showed greater outright token trading, while expanding Futures Volume pointed to stronger derivatives participation.

Alongside rising prices, that activity supported the bullish outlook. Still, volume includes buying and selling, so demand must continue absorbing supply.

As long as buyers hold their ground, the rally could retain enough momentum to extend. The test would come if holders began taking profits while leveraged exposure remained elevated.

What could slow Raydium’s breakout?

Raydium’s [RAY] daily chart remained bullish, with the token trading above its 20-, 50-, 100-, and 200-day Exponential Moving Averages (EMAs). RAY also continued printing higher highs, supporting the ongoing uptrend.

The increase in Open Interest and trading volumes strengthened the case for continued participation, although further gains would depend on sustained buying.

All in all, RAY retained its bullish bias. Nonetheless, profit-taking after the sharp advance could trigger short-term volatility. If selling accelerated, elevated leveraged exposure could leave the market vulnerable to a sharper correction.
