Is Sui’s record $80M USDsui stablecoin supply a sign of wider adoption?
SUI’s USDsui hits record supply as partnerships, buybacks, and AI adoption shape its future growth strategy.
Growing stablecoin adoption is no longer just a sign of a blockchain’s capital influx.
More than that, it has become a harbinger of the adoption to come. The reason is simple: As stablecoin use cases expand, now spanning TradFi, cross-border payments, state treasury accumulation, and more, rising stablecoin flows could reflect growing utility and an enhanced likelihood of wider adoption to follow.
With that said, SUI’s recent development is promising. According to the chart below, Sui’s native stablecoin, USDsui, has attained a record of $80 million in supply. Issued by Stripe’s Bridge, USDsui has grown by 20.5% within the last 90 days, signaling a steady rise in stablecoin activity on the network.

From an on-chain perspective, the impact is notable.
According to DeFiLlama data, SUI’s total value locked (TVL) rose over 20% during the same period, reaching $530 million. This indicates that stablecoins are contributing to the expansion of the entire ecosystem as more and more capital flows into the L1 blockchain.
However, with strategic partnerships, buybacks, and increasing use of AI in focus, is USDsui reaching a record supply, a sign that Sui [SUI] is shifting its focus to a more ‘future-focused’ approach to growth?
USDsui hits new high as SUI’s ecosystem expands
The record-breaking supply of USDsui may not be a coincidence.
The token’s rise follows the L1’s recent efforts. The Sui Foundation has just launched a $30 million investment in DATA Network. In turn, adding to the network’s push into AI-related infrastructure. Meanwhile, the Sui Foundation and Mysten Labs are partnering with OpenAssets to bring the Open Tokenized Asset Standard to SUI, which aims to boost the network’s adoption of tokenized assets.
At the same time, Sui has repurchased 830,300 SUI, worth around $646,000, using yield from stablecoin reserves. This is buying pressure for SUI and highlights that stablecoin activity can also bolster demand for the network’s native token. In this context, SUI’s stablecoin market cap crossing the $480 million mark for the first time since the Q3 peak could create more room for future buybacks.

Together, these developments put USDsui’s growth in focus.
Given the strategic partnerships, buybacks, and increased use of artificial intelligence in the SUI network, its record-breaking stablecoin supply contributes to the overall expansion of the network for future growth. If this trend holds, USDsui could be shaping to be a critical growth driver for the altcoin, making its stablecoin adoption a crucial element in the network’s expansion.
