XRP eyes $1.50 rebound as rare 3-day buy signal rears its head — Details

The Ripple [XRP] TD Sequential indicator fired another buy signal recently, according to popular crypto analyst and trader Ali Martinez. In fact, at the time of writing, the altcoin was up 1.66% in 24 hours.

However, it’s worth pointing out that it has not had a decisive breakout from its price correction from $1.50 that began earlier this month.

The token was only up 1.40% over the past week. The buy signal on the 3-day chart could precede a strong impulse move. The previous three similar signals have been followed by rebounds of 31%, 24%, and 18%.

Whale supply stats help explain XRP large-holder conviction

Crypto intelligence platform Santiment drew attention to the large-holder behavior. A recent post revealed how wallets holding atleast 10 million XRP were in control of 46.78 billion tokens, or 68.5% of the total supply.

The massive holder cohort now controls the most XRP it has since November 2022. Moreover, they have continued to accumulate more tokens despite the price difficulties throughout 2026.

It may be a sign of conviction from the largest whales, even as smaller holders sold under pressure due to the recent month’s steady declines.

Santiment also reported that $1.30 was the immediate pivot level swing traders and investors must keep an eye on. If the $1.50-level is reclaimed, the case for a bullish recovery would be made much stronger.

XRP Futures deleveraging a “positive sign”

XRP Open Interest on Binance fell to $445 million, below its 180-day moving average at $463 million. This was driven partially by the market-wide slump that forced a price decline from $1.50 in October.

Falling prices helped depress the Open Interest, as it causes the value of existing positions to decrease, wrote crypto analyst Darkfost. Sell-offs triggered by liquidations have also forced the Futures market into a more defensive stance.

This reset could be a positive sign, as deleveraging suggested that Futures pressure on XRP may be easing.

If the altcoin can stabilize from here and defend the $1.30-demand zone from mid-September, it could boost the chances of a short-term recovery.

Final Summary

  • The TD Sequential indicator on XRP’s 3-day timeframe chart flashed a buy signal, which has been followed by substantial gains the previous three times it fired in similar conditions.
  • Depressed Open Interest could be a positive sign for the market in the form of deleveraging.
