‘A little more orange’ – Will Michael Saylor’s Strategy add more Bitcoin?
Is Strategy gearing up to defy September’s Bitcoin slump with another purchase?
Strategy’s Michael Saylor appears to be back with his ‘orange tease’ after multiple sell-offs and growing criticism around the firm’s Bitcoin [BTC] accumulation.
Taking to X on the 20th of September, Saylor posted a historical chart of Strategy’s Bitcoin acquisitions with the caption,
A little more orange.
Given the past patterns, the current post clearly hints at the fact that Strategy is planning to add more to its already huge Bitcoin reserve.

Strategy’s Bitcoin stash update
This followed Strategy’s sale of 6,919 BTC during July and August 2026.
However, the firm’s recent purchase of 4,603 BTC for approximately $369.7 million at an average price of $80,318 per Bitcoin took its holdings to 845,050 BTC.

Moreover, Strategy now controls roughly 4.02% of Bitcoin’s eventual 21 million-coin supply.
Is Strategy defying crypto’s September slump?
Interestingly, the recent tease comes in the month of September, which has historically been referred to as a bearish month for the crypto market. However, given Strategy’s buy-the-dip game plan for years, the firm seems to be defying the September fever.
Confirming this trend reversal was AMBCrypto’s recent report, which showed how Bitcoin’s September weakness was particularly notable from 2017 through 2022. But over time, as positive September closes occurred in 2023, 2024, and 2025, the pattern weakened significantly.
MSTR, too, steals the spotlight
Strategy’s stocks have also surged, as MSTR closed at $153.92 at press time, after jumping 16.39% in a single session.
In fact, over the one-month period, the stock gained approximately 47.65%, putting it at the top of the Nasdaq-100’s one-month performance ranking in the comparison circulating this weekend.
Meanwhile, Strategy also made headlines for repurchasing $139 million worth of its STRC preferred stock on 14th September.
Other Bitcoin DATs take inspiration
Notably, other Bitcoin DATs also added BTC to their treasury in the past week. Starting with BlackRock’s iShares Bitcoin Trust, it recorded $426.4 million in inflows, bringing total net assets since launch to approximately $59.75 billion.
Strive added 469 BTC in the past week, bringing its total holdings to 25,000 BTC. Additionally, Capital B joined the trail, adding just 4 BTC in the past week and bringing its total BTC stash to 3,525 BTC, worth $287.9 million.
Final Summary
- Michael Saylor’s new tease ignites new Bitcoin accumulation for Strategy.
- Strategy is defying September madness as its stock too jumped 16.39% in a single session.
