Abu Dhabi University (ADU), a premier private university established in 2003, and 5ire, one of the world’s fastest-growing unicorns with a mission to make blockchains sustainable and accessible for over one billion people by 2030, have entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to collaborate on blockchain education, research, and entrepreneurship. Their mission is to democratize blockchain education and offer nuanced, outcome-based learning to students in the region, and eventually across the world.

“We are thrilled to be partnering with 5ire to advance blockchain education and research at Abu Dhabi University,” said the Chancellor of Abu Dhabi University, Professor Ghassan Aouad. “This collaboration aligns perfectly with our mission to provide our students with a high-quality education that prepares them for successful careers and leadership roles in their respective fields. We believe that blockchain technology has the potential to transform a wide range of industries, and we are excited to be at the forefront of this transformation.”

The collaboration will focus on providing learning opportunities for students and young professionals. The focus will be on blockchain technology and its applications, with a particular emphasis on 5ire’s technology. The parties will also collaborate in identifying and supporting compelling projects built on 5ire’s blockchain technology, with a specific focus on sustainability and accessibility. Additionally, ADU and 5ire will provide resources and support for students or researchers interested in developing and commercializing projects based on 5ire’s technology.

“We are delighted to be working with Abu Dhabi University to advance blockchain education, research, and entrepreneurship in the UAE,” said Pratik Gauri, Co-Founder, and CEO. “Our technology is designed to address the problem of low blockchain adoption due to sustainability and accessibility challenges. By partnering with Abu Dhabi University, we will be able to provide students and researchers with the necessary skills and knowledge to develop and commercialize projects that can have a positive impact on society and the environment.”

This collaboration is in line with the UAE’s strategy to promote innovation and technology in the country and will contribute to the national effort of building a knowledge-based economy.
