AI Financial flags ‘substantial doubt’ after WLFI holdings trigger $271mln loss

WLFI treasury firm AI Financial Corporation reported a net loss of $271.49 million in Q1 2026

WLFI treasury firm AI Financial Corporation reported a net loss of $271.49 million in Q1 2026

AI Financial Corporation, a WLFI treasury firm led by Zachary Witkoff, CEO of World Liberty Financial, released its Q1 2026 results.

Compared to a net loss of $2.39 million in the same period last year, the company reported a net loss of $271.49 million in Q1 2026, according to its earnings report.

As of the 28th of March 2026, the company’s working capital deficit was roughly $5.5 million, which was the result of $39.1 million in total current liabilities and $32.2 million in total current assets. Expressing sentiments on such bizarre data, Witkoff noted,

These conditions raise substantial doubt about the Company’s ability to continue as a going concern within one year after the date these financial statements are issued.

That said, the remaining balance of digital assets and other receivables was roughly $12.5 million as of the 28th of March, 2026, as compared to $18.0 million on the 27th of December, 2025.

On the other hand, the firm generated $4.7 million in revenue as of the 28th of March, 2026, as compared to $4.8 million as of the 29th of March, 2025.

How WLFI token holdings were the main catalyst

The decrease in value of the company’s WLFI holdings was a significant factor in its loss.

As of the 28th of March, AI Financial had 7.28 billion WLFI tokens worth $706 million, which was less than their fair value of $1 billion on the 27th of December 2025, leaving them with an unrealized loss of $348.3 million. For context, tokens had a $1.46 billion cost basis.

Remarking on which, the CEO noted

Notwithstanding the foregoing, the WLFI tokens are subject to significant market price risk, and there can be no assurance that the tokens will retain their current value or that the Company will be able to monetize them on favorable terms or at all.

Therefore, the company’s ability to manage its liquidity position, achieve revenue growth, and raise additional capital through debt or equity financing will determine its ability to continue as a going concern.

All about AI Financial common stock

Together with pre-funded warrants to buy up to 99 million more shares and warrants to buy up to 20 million shares at exercise prices between $7.50 and $9.75 per share, WLF currently owns one million shares of AI Financial common stock.

This comes as the price of the WLFI token was trading at $0.05990 following a 24% decline in just one month.

At the same time, AI Financial’s stock price had fallen more than 35% so far this year and was currently trading at $8.75.

This followed a recent report where AMBCrypto reported 100 million WLFI tokens getting burned. However, there is still a long way to go in comparison to the recently burned 100 million tokens.
