BNB technical analysis: Analyzing the possibility of a bullish shift

BNB's weekly chart reveals a complex pattern of price movements. While the BNB price prediction for 2024 appears cautiously optimistic, its sustainability requires further analysis. Initially, the bulls struggled to sustain in the market. The bearish dominance forced the price to stagnate at its lowest floor of $209. 
 

This level halted further declines and set the stage for a subsequent rally in mid-October. The renewed uptrend faced considerable pushback at $320. Repeated attempts to reclaim this level, lasting over a month, succeeded by mid-February. Even with the overbought market, the asset surpassed most expectations, exceeding the psychological $500 mark by March. 

Subsequently, BNB reached $607. This level was tested repeatedly from mid-March, marking a consolidation phase. Even as the broader market crashed in April, BNB did not shed much of its gains, maintaining a relatively stable momentum between this level and $565. 
 

The tides shifted in bullish favor as a June breakout propelled the coin over the upper limit of the range. BNB witnessed a remarkable week as it continued to make new highs. AMBCrypto revealed that the coin peaked at an all-time high (ATH) of over $720 on June 6, making $675 the peak resistance in the higher time frame.

Nonetheless, sell-offs ensued shortly, reflecting the market’s efforts to maintain equilibrium after an overbuying spree. The correction returned BNB to $565 by month’s end. This level was compromised in July, with the price plunging to $488. AMBCrypto noted that a substantial drop in on-chain activity also affected this decline. Furthermore, the network's Unique Active Wallets (UAWs) fell by over 9% in the first week.

Amidst this downturn, a whale knocked BNB further by dumping 200,000 tokens. Nonetheless, Binance's plans to expand its loanable assets offered through Binance Loans (Flexible Rate) and VIP Loan services catalyzed a surge in price. Consequently, it moved over $565 mid-month.
 

However, it retraced its steps by the end of July. In early August, AMBCrypto highlighted that the asset was severely affected by the broader market downturn. Substantial outflows amplified the price downtick. 
 

Nevertheless, Binance’s legal settlement with India and Brazil marked a significant win for the exchange, sparking a mid-month price recovery exceeding $565. Yet, the broader market sell-off erased these gains, and BNB returned to $488 in September. At press time, it exchanged hands at $508.

AMBCrypto's recent analysis indicated a potential breakout, backed by significant whale accumulation and development activity. Another report suggested that more traders were betting against BNB, signaling potential price drops.

Despite this, the price action and a recovering altcoin market might propel a rise. In addition, on-chain metrics supported the possibility of short-term correction with recovery potential.

Furthermore, the network's growing adoption through memecoins pointed to a long-term positive trend. The upcoming release of Changpeng Zhao (CZ), the co-founder and former CEO of Binance, could also spark a bull run for BNB.

The asset is now set for a volatile time ahead. If the momentum holds and the broader market remains favorable, the bulls will likely push past the closest resistance. The likelihood of a rejection at $607 is relatively high. Yet sustaining over it would pave the way for a retest of the highest resistance to reclaim the critical $700 mark.

However, if the declines persist, it would adversely affect the future trajectory. Increasing selling pressure would precipitate a potential movement toward the $500-$488 region. If this support zone is breached, market conditions could worsen.

Our predictive models are moderately optimistic about BNB's prospects. Looking ahead to 2028, the models anticipate the asset to average $1,000. Continuing its upward trajectory, BNB is expected to trade at an average price of $2,500 in 2035.

BNB's 2024 roadmap: Key indicators to watch and trade

• BNB's trading volume recovered in October, validating the price rally. It receded again from late March. Even as the coin attained its ATH, the volume remained unaffected. This indicated cautious investor participation.
• An in-depth look at the Directional Movement Index (DMI) revealed that the -DI line started as the highest, with the +DI line at the bottom. These positions were reversed in late October. Moreover, the ADX line also moved above the -DI in late November. 
• Between late January and mid-February, the ADX rose above the +DI, a trend that recurred in mid-March. From June, the lines descended while the -DI line rose and overtook the +DI in August. At the time of writing, the indicator values were the ADX at 28.1833, the +DI at 21.4512, and the -DI at 27.1153. This highlighted a bearish trend.
• After acting as price barriers, the 20 and 50 Exponential Moving Averages (EMAs) were flipped in late 2023. Following this, a golden cross was formed in late January. 
• However, the candles briefly dipped below the 20 EMA in early July before asserting dominance again mid-month. This pattern was repeated in early August and September, reflecting an uptick in selling pressure.
