LTC technical analysis: Q3 2024 to bring more gains

While Bitcoin (BTC)—the digital gold has continued to capture a significant market share, the digital silver has not been left behind. LTC has experienced quite some spikes and dips. Yet, the question remains of what its future trajectory will look like. The Litecoin price prediction for 2024 aims to delve deeper into this.
 

Over the analyzed period, multiple attempts were made to boost the cryptocurrency’s price. Starting in May, the coin tried to flip the resistance at $90. After a brief success, this effort resulted in a pullback, which saw the price retract below $79. 

The anticipation of the August halving led to a build-up of FOMO around the coin. LTC rallied, finally breaching the critical $100 mark by the end of June. It even soared past the peak resistance at $105 to go higher. This price action contrasted sharply with the performance of other altcoins, which saw considerable declines this month.

Nonetheless, this uptrend was not sustained. Despite analyst predictions of a significant bull market triggered by the reduction in block reward, LTC’s price action unfolded in a contrary manner. The following month, the price faced rejection.

Efforts to defend the $90 level failed between mid and late July. This weakness resulted in further declines, with the price dropping to its lowest support level observed during the analysis period at $61 in mid-August. 

The October rally saw bulls overcome $70. Nonetheless, $79 held its position as a significant point of rejection, causing the price to dip below the former level numerous times in early 2024. The market dynamics shifted in late February, with a significant price rally transforming $79 into a new support base. 

Although a test of the $90 level led to a minor retracement, March witnessed the price re-testing the peak resistance on the chart. This test resulted in a rejection.
 

The coin shed much of its gains in April as it fell below $90 again. Notably, the bulls managed to hold on to the $79 base, with the price remaining hovering over this level for over a month. At press time, LTC exchanged hands at $86.
 

Despite this, AMBCrypto’s recent report highlighted that whales have accumulated LTC significantly, with over 2.751 million LTC amassed over the last 30 days. Going forward, $90 is a crucial mark to monitor. The price’s sustainability over this level will indicate the continuity of the bull run. A continued uptrend can lead LTC to go above $113. After this, $134 and $150 are the next likely targets. 

AMBCrypto also took a closer look at Litecoin’s price movements to uncover that, historically, LTC follows a clear pattern during each cycle. The price tends to remain stable around the halving events until approximately 4-5 months after Bitcoin's halving, after which it usually experiences a significant increase. Based on this pattern, LTC's price is expected to rise towards the end of Q3 this year, around August or September. 

If LTC replicates BTC’s success, the coin can likely reclaim its all-time high (ATH) in 2024. Yet, a level around $380 might trigger a pushback. Contrarily, LTC might return to $70 if the current support breaks, rendering the trend bearish.

LTC’s four-year trajectory looks cautiously promising. According to forecasts from our analytical models, the token is anticipated to achieve an average price exceeding $1,700 by 2027. Looking ahead, this upward trend is projected to continue, with expectations for the price to surpass $16,000 by 2030.

LTC's 2024 roadmap: Key indicators to watch and trade

• The Chaikin Money Flow (CMF) started out positive. After achieving its peak at 0.27 in late June, a decline ensued. By October, it had slid below the zero line.
• After a short spike towards the end of November, the indicator turned negative briefly again in December. Following this, it continued to rise till early March. 
• Since then, it has dropped to 0.16 at the time of writing. This indicated that accumulation still overtook distribution, although at a weaker pace.
• LTC's trading volume remained largely moderate throughout the analyzed period, with spikes observed during bull runs. However, a notable reduction became evident from mid-July onwards and then again from April. 
• The Moving Average Convergence Divergence (MACD) line remained submissive to the signal line, albeit with a brief positive crossover between late June and late July.
• Distinctly, by mid-August, the MACD line plunged below the zero line, with the signal line following suit by the end of the month. This descent continued until October, after which the indicator reversed its course. 
• By November, the MACD line regained its position over the signal line. The late February rally pushed the former into positive territory, with the latter moving across zero by mid-March. 
• From April, the MACD line began dropping and eventually fell below the signal line in May. As the analysis ended, it registered at 2.77, with the signal line and histogram at 3.09 and -0.32, respectively. These values pointed to the emergence of bearish pressure.
