  • BAYC and MAYC collections rank at the top in sales and volume.

The NFT space has been subdued regarding the sales volume, with only occasional surges noticed in various marketplaces. Nonetheless, a recent analysis of a different NFT metric in these marketplaces revealed a significant surge in activity.

NFT sales count and DAU surge

In a recent post on 15 June, Sea Launch highlighted an encouraging development in the NFT market. According to data obtained from Dune Analytics, a notable surge in daily active users (DAU) has occurred across various NFT marketplaces.

On June 14, a staggering 14,000 unique users were recorded. The number marked the highest figure in the past two months, as indicated by the post and the accompanying chart.

Additionally, the surge in user activity was accompanied by a spike in sales. During the same period, sales surpassed 50,000, reaching its highest point in the past two months.

Furthermore, the Dune Analytics chart revealed that OpenSea and Blur stood out in sales and daily active users. However, OpenSea led the pack with superior sales figures and a larger user base.

The possible reason for the recent NFT stats spike

Recently, Crypto Punks introduced a new NFT collection known as the Boring Punks. This launch garnered significant attention and activity on 14 June, coinciding with the overall surge in sales count and daily active users across various NFT marketplaces.

According to data from Crypto Slam, the Boring Punk collection achieved impressive sales of nearly $1.5 million on June 14, although the current sales level has decreased since then. As of this writing, the collection’s sales volume was around $76,000.

Furthermore, based on OpenSea statistics, the number of sales for the Boring Punks collection was approaching 25,000. These dynamic activities surrounding the new collection and the observed market surge indicated that it might have been a significant trigger.

BAYC and MAYC dominate top collections

While the Boring Punks collection experienced a notable surge and impacted important NFT metrics, other collections have emerged as top contenders. According to Sea Launch on Dune data, the Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC) collection and the Mutant Ape Yacht Club (MAYC) collection claimed the top positions.

When considering the 24-hour volume, the MAYC collection took the lead, followed by BAYC in second place. However, when examining the 30-day volume, the BAYC collection secured the top rank, with MAYC closely following in second place.
