Jito faces $59M TVL shrink – Is JTO’s rebound still possible?

Jito’s bears haven't seized full control yet, with a rebound still on the table.

Jito faces $59M TVL shrink - Is JTO's rebound still possible?

Jito [JTO] has sat on the profitable side of the market when viewed from a broader perspective.

On a year-to-date basis, the asset has seen a 42% upswing in price, yet sentiment is gradually shifting as sellers seize control of the most recent price trajectory for its native token, JTO.

The asset has pulled back over the past day, sliding 11.59% as the bears continue to build. This exposes JTO to the risk of a further decline.

$59M TVL slump drains JTO

A significant capital shrink has hit the market, and it links directly to the on-chain performance of the total value locked (TVL).

The TVL has plummeted by more than $59 million from its July 23 high of $791.02 million within that period.

TVL measures a protocol’s health, and a rising reading often implies investors hold a long-term outlook for a protocol’s native token. A sharp decline signals panic and a market crowded with sellers.

The shrink extends across centralized exchanges too, where the derivatives market shows falling Open Interest (OI). At press time, OI dropped 16% alongside a netflow of $1.62 million, which deepens the bearish outlook and forces JTO toward the lower side of the market.

Jito earnings keep the bulls in play

The bears have not completely tainted the outlook, as some bullish structures remain and point to a possible rebound.

Earnings data on DeFiLlama for Jito shows the protocol has generated more in July than in June, with three more days of data still to come.

The July figure has reached roughly $324,000, a slight improvement on June’s approximate $312,000, even as the price fell 32% over the last thirty days in a bearish market.

Likewise, the Funding Rate remained positive with a reading of 0.0027% as of writing. This indicates that the majority of capital, roughly $47.14 million, favors long JTO positions over the sellers in the market.

With the protocol’s solid performance and the capital in the perps leaning bullish, JTO still stands a chance of a rebound in the near term.

JTO liquidation clusters point higher

The liquidation heatmap shows a clear, dense band of clusters above the current price level on the chart.

Clusters mark the areas where investors have placed buy or sell orders, and these zones act as magnets, pulling price toward them.

At the time of writing, most of the clusters sit densely concentrated far above price. However, the thinner cluster below price leaves room for JTO to drop even lower and extend its current losses. A rebound, importantly, remains in sight.

Final Summary

  • Jito total value locked (TVL) has fallen by more than $59 million since the 23rd of July.
  • July earnings have edged past June’s total, and the Funding Rate remains positive, leaving JTO on a path to recovery.
