AAVE technical analysis: Platform roadmap captures investor interest

While artificial intelligence (AI) tokens and memecoins have taken the lead this year, decentralized finance (DeFi) tokens have not been left behind. The Aave price prediction for 2024 sheds light on its past trajectory while paving the way for future potential.

At the outset, the token faced rejection at $70. This led to a fall to the lowest support over the analyzed time frame at $50 in June. An attempt to breach the former resistance in mid-June elevated the price above this level again the next month. Subsequently, the asset tested the resistance at $81.
 

However, the price faced rejection, pushing it back to the lowest support by mid-August. This was indicative of a strong bearish presence in the market. Nonetheless, the bullish rally in late 2023 succeeded in establishing the prior resistances as support levels by the end of October. 

Carrying the uptrend, the price tested the $108 resistance. Additionally, it managed to graze the peak resistance at $129 in December. Yet, bulls’ continued attempts to claim the former level faced considerable pushback, bringing AAVE to land on $81 in February. Concurrently, the buying pressure began to build up. The concerted bullish efforts enabled the token to surpass this level by the end of the month. 

Besides the broader optimism in the market, AMBCrypto reported important developments for AAVE coinciding with this February rally. There was a significant surge in network activity and growth in revenue.

Thus, the price reached the $129 resistance again in March. This barrier was tested for almost a month. Nevertheless, as the entire market succumbed to selling pressure, so did AAVE. A substantial drop caused the price to graze $70 in early April.

As the month progressed, the price stabilized over $81. At the time of this writing, the DeFi token was trading at $83. Interestingly, on May 1, Aave Labs announced plans to launch Aave v4 by 2030. 

This new iteration will feature a unified cross-chain liquidity layer (CCLL) to consolidate liquidity from multiple networks into a single protocol. Additionally, the development and adoption of Real World Assets (RWAs) represent another significant advancement in this upcoming version.
 

This proposal can likely have a lasting impact on the price’s prospects, sparking long-term optimism. A reversal in favor of the bulls would necessitate overcoming the $108 resistance. This will likely put the peak resistance at $178 as the next target. Persistent rallies can lead AAVE to trade as high as $314 within 2024. However, the token can likely experience pullback at $270.

Considering the bearish scenarios, the current support level was seen to be a focal point for market players. If the increased selling pressure causes this level to fail, AAVE can return at $70. Notably, a break below this mark will effectively mark a significant loss of valuation as the price finds support at $50.

• The trading volume demonstrated a consistent relationship with the price. Increased volumes acted as a validation of the price rallies. It implied that the price change was not merely speculative but backed by many investors.
• The On-Balance Volume (OBV) experienced a slight ascent in mid-June. This was followed by another much stronger ascension in October. 
• From November to January, the indicator stabilized before climbing again until mid-March. Thereafter, the indicator reversed its trajectory, reaching 46.795 million at the time of analysis. This reflected that accumulation had decreased.
• The Directional Movement Index (DMI) analysis revealed that the ADX line was initially positioned below both the +DI and -DI lines. The +DI line remained below the -DI between May and mid-June and again dropped below from mid-August to mid-September
• The +DI began to ascend in September, with the ADX line following in October. By December, the ADX line surpassed the +DI line, while the -DI continued to decline.
• These movements reversed in March as -DI started to rise while the other two lines experienced a decline. This culminated in the -DI line moving above the +DI in April.
• At the time of the analysis, the DMI values were reported as follows: ADX at 32.8136, +DI at 19.9378, and -DI at 21.7929. These values further corroborated the emergence of a bearish trend.
