LTC technical analysis: Is another rally on the horizon? 

While Bitcoin (BTC)—the digital gold has continued to capture a significant share of the market, the digital silver has not been left behind. LTC has experienced a meteoric rise. Yet, the question remains of what its future trajectory will look like. The Litecoin price prediction for 2024 aims to delve deeper into this.

Over the analyzed period, multiple attempts were made to boost the cryptocurrency’s price. Starting in April, the coin tried to flip the resistance at $94. After a brief success, this effort resulted in a pullback to $85. A break below it saw the price retracting to $77. This pattern was again repeated in mid-May.

The anticipation of the August halving led to a build-up of FOMO around the coin. LTC rallied, finally breaching the critical $100 mark by the end of June. It even soared past the peak resistance at $105 to go higher. This price action contrasted sharply with the performance of other altcoins, which saw considerable declines in this month.
 

Nonetheless, this uptrend was not sustained. Despite analyst predictions of a significant bull market triggered by the reduction in block reward, LTC’s price action unfolded in a contrary manner. The following month, the price faced rejection.

Between mid and late July, efforts to breach the $94 resistance level failed. This weakness resulted in further declines, with the price dropping to its lowest support level observed during the analysis period at $61 in mid-August. 

The October rally saw bulls overcome $70. Nonetheless, $77 held its position as a significant point of rejection, causing the price to dip below the former level numerous times in early 2024. The market dynamics shifted in late February, with a significant price rally transforming $77  into a new support base. 

Although a test of the $94 level led to a minor retracement, the declines were halted at $85. By the end of March, another surge occurred, propelling the price to test the peak resistance on the chart. This test resulted in a rejection.
 

The coin shed much of its gains in the second week of April as it fell below $85 again. Notably, bullish candlesticks started emerging afterward, attributed to the highly anticipated Bitcoin (BTC) halving. At press time, LTC exchanged hands at $84.
 

AMBCrypto, in their examination of data from Santiment, noted that the recent price increase of Litecoin enabled it to surpass a longstanding bullish pattern, indicating a potential surge of over 300% in the upcoming weeks. 

The analysis also highlighted a rise in whale activity concurrent with the price surge. Furthermore, the price increase resulted in a positive shift in its Market Value to Realized Value (MVRV) ratio, suggesting that a larger number of investors were seeing profits. LTC also saw substantial inflows.

Going forward, $94 is a crucial mark to monitor. The price’s sustainability over this level will indicate the continuity of the bull run. A continued uptrend can lead LTC to go above $113. After this, $134 and $150 are the next likely targets. If LTC replicates BTC’s success, the coin will likely reclaim its all-time high (ATH) in 2024. Yet, a level around $380 might trigger a pushback. 
 

On the flip side, LTC might find itself back at $70 if the current support breaks. Meanwhile, a drop below this level will render the trend bearish.

LTC’s four-year trajectory looks cautiously promising. According to forecasts derived from our analytical models, the token is anticipated to achieve an average price exceeding $150 by the year 2028. Looking ahead, this upward trend is projected to continue, with expectations for the price to surpass $400 by 2035.

LTC's 2024 roadmap: Key indicators to watch and trade

• The Chaikin Money Flow (CMF) started out above the zero line. After achieving its peak at 0.27 in late June, a decline ensued. By October, it had slid below the zero line.
• After a short spike towards the end of November, the indicator turned negative briefly again in December. Following this, it continued to rise till early March. 
• Since then, it has dropped to 0.11 at the time of writing. This indicated that accumulation still overtook distribution, although at a weaker pace.
• LTC's volume remained largely moderate throughout the analyzed period, with sporadic spikes observed. However, a notable reduction in trading volume became evident from mid-July onwards. 
• This was reversed again in late February as the volume recorded highs. It suggested strong buying interest, with more market participants entering the market, potentially driving the price higher.
• In mid-April, the Moving Average Convergence Divergence (MACD) line descended below the signal line. A brief positive crossover occurred between late June and late July, which was short-lived. 
• Distinctly, by mid-August, the MACD line plunged below the zero line, with the signal line following suit by the end of the month. This descent continued until October, after which the indicator reversed its course. 
• By November, the MACD line regained its position over the signal line. The late February rally pushed the former into positive territory, with the latter moving across zero by mid-March. 
• Since April, the MACD line has been experiencing a downtick. As the analysis ended, it registered at 4.19, with the signal line and histogram at 3.28 and 0.91, respectively. This validated the presence of an ongoing bullish trend.
