Revolut announced that they would be adding support for the trading of XRP on their platform. The addition for support was teased by Chad West, Head of Marketing and Communication for Revolut, on Twitter.
He posted a screenshot of a transaction on the Revolut app, with the caption:
“Hmmm. Could this be #XRP on @RevolutApp”
He then went on to say an hour later that support will be added later this week, asking followers to stay tuned to Revolut’s social media accounts. He also added that it would be announced through email.
Revolut is a UK-based digital banking service provider offering holding, exchange, and transfer without fees in 25 different currencies. It also offers a contactless Visa card as one of its products, allowing for fee-free transactions in 130 currencies.
They have reportedly saved customers 150M GBP in fees. They have a customer base of about 1.5 million, with a total value upwards of $10 billion.
Uphold also added to the list of crypto exchanges that offer full support for XRP, including full integration. This means that it is possible for users to transact on and off from external wallets. This feature is aimed for launch on 24th of May.
Ripple’s week has been a rollercoaster one in price. Even as the total growth percentage for the coin is in the red, with a decline of 8.3% over the week, the coin saw a slight uptick in price. Investors are used to this, however, as the last week saw a series of drops and gains in quick succession.
It started this week $0.73 on May 15th, with a quick drop to $0.67 the very next day on May 16th. It gained again, with a growth to $0.71 on May 17th. Another rollercoaster bend came on May 18th, with a drop to $0.6. It brushed the $0.70 limit on May 21st, before dropping to its current value of $0.67.
