Solana stablecoin holders hit 14M as SOL falls 13% – Can adoption drive SOL?

Solana’s growing stablecoin base has yet to translate into stronger trading activity, network fees, or sustained demand for SOL.

Solana stablecoin holders hit 14M as SOL falls 13% - Can adoption drive SOL?

Solana’s stablecoin usage is broadening, as evidenced by the increase of holder address accounts from less than 4 million in October 2024 to 14 million in October.

Due to this expansion, there is a greater number of holders who are now exposed to dollar-pegged assets, potentially making stablecoins more accessible for payments, trading, and DeFi activity.

As a result of the expanded interest in using Solana [SOL] stablecoins, the acceleration of new holders increased in 2025 and gained further momentum in 2026, pushing holder counts above 10 million.

The total stablecoin supply on Solana is still in excess of $15 billion. This continued high level of supply provides liquidity to all aspects of the Solana ecosystem.

Meanwhile, more holders do not automatically equate to more active users or higher transaction counts. Ultimately, the impact of this growth will be measured by whether holders use these assets regularly, turning wider access into sustained network demand and deeper liquidity.

Stablecoin flows remain mixed

While Solana’s native on-chain stablecoin supply has expanded to over $15 billion, broader crypto market dynamics show a lack of new capital entering trading venues.

Beginning in June 2025, there have been multiple instances of large surges in both deposit and withdrawal amounts of stablecoins. This reflects changes in investor preferences and trading activity.

Additionally, peak inflow levels reached approximately $2.8 billion. This could provide additional liquidity to exchanges to facilitate buying.

However, subsequent withdrawals have consistently reversed any potential gains. For instance,  in April there were withdrawals totaling approximately $2.3 billion. This pattern illustrates that investors have yet to establish a steady stream of capital flowing into exchanges.

More recently, netflows have approached neutral territory, with the latest reading at -$8.2 million. Without sustained inflows, immediate buying pressure may remain limited.

Stablecoin growth fails to lift SOL

Although exchange flows illustrate how liquidity moves within the Solana ecosystem, the overall performance of the SOL token represents whether the established capital base supports additional network-wide activity.

Despite its stablecoin supply sitting near $15.65 billion, SOL has traded at around $101-$102 since losing nearly 13% over the past 30 days. Similarly, weekly DEX volume has decreased approximately 9%.

This illustrates that despite having significant liquidity available, trading volume within the Solana DEX space has actually decreased.

Furthermore, DeFi TVL currently sits at $5.77 billion, and daily network fees continue to be around $477k. Both metrics indicate a gap exists between capital availability and actual economic activity occurring on the Solana network.

Therefore, unless trading volumes, DeFi engagement, and fee generation trends begin to improve, the expanding stablecoin base may struggle to support a sustained SOL price recovery.

Final Summary

  • Solana stablecoin holders reached 14 million addresses in October 2026, while supply remained above $15 billion.

  • SOL fell over 13% in 30 days as DEX volume declined 9%, despite $15.65 billion in stablecoin supply.
