The blockchain and crypto industry has seen an influx of stakeholders and in this case, providing an easy-to-use and safe means of trade and payments to the users becomes one of the primary objectives of redefining the space.

Spaceium aims to make the blockchain and cryptocurrency space more accessible and secure for their users. The platform provides a range of payment gateways such as SpacePay, debit and credit cards, point-of-sale solutions, and bank account transfers which helps the users to accept payments in crypto and fiat as per their preference.

In an interview with us, Benjamin Byrkjeland, CMO of Spaceium talks about the platform, payment solutions, their marketplace, and much more.

1.  What was the vision behind creating Spaceium as a payment solution for the everyday user?

Well, our vision has always been clear. An easy way to spend, send, receive money and never forget the holders of $SPM. With the digitalization that has happened in recent years. We couldn’t understand why the banks, payment processors, etc were so far behind the evolution. We scanned the crypto market and saw that there was a big hole we could fill.

We also figured that we had to connect the usage of the coin to the price of the coin. So we designed a system where every transaction helps to raise the price of the coin. We did so because we want people to HOLD, send, pay and use $SPM on a daily basis because if you have a coin that’s being used every day and with so raises the price, why would you convert it to a stablecoin?

2.  According to you, what are some of the problems faced by the crypto ecosystem that is hindering its use in day-to-day life?

The biggest problem with using crypto today is that the price is too volatile and there is no easy-to-use system for «regular people» to use. That’s why we made the system where transactions higher the price and we’ve always had the idea that «if our grandmother can pay with crypto using our system, everybody can»

So we’ve had a big focus on making our project user-friendly for everyone and helping the price up in every way we can.

3. While we are seeing a gradual transition towards large-scale adoption of cryptocurrencies and blockchain technology, what role does Spaceium play in this paradigm shift?

I think we will play a big role in making crypto mainstream, it kind of goes together with the 2nd question. We think those problems are keeping crypto away from mainstream adoption and that there has to be a solution for that in order for people to go fully crypto.

 4. How does Spaceium offer financial solutions to users and merchants?

We will offer Spacepay, a point of sale system, and money transfers. In short, we take different technologies and put them together. When we started planning the project, we quickly found out that we had to make a lot of new stuff ourselves to be able to provide all our services at such low fees. Using other services and including them in our system would be too expensive for the users.

5. Could you tell us more about the centralized and decentralized exchange networks of Spaceium and the reason behind creating both these networks?

The reason why we will offer centralized and decentralized exchanges is only to make it easier and more available for the users to easily swift between coins, tokens, or NFTs. We want to provide a platform that puts the user in the center.

 6. What solutions does Spaceium offer with their marketplace and e-commerce platform?

To describe it easily, it would be similar to eBay and Amazon. We also think it’s really important to provide digital ownership of physical products like bikes, watches, etc to make it safer to buy and sell products. We will also have the opportunity to buy and sell NFTs.

7. What is the Spaceium coin? What are the use cases associated with it?

First of all, $SPM will be used in every transaction made. We will deliver a way for merchants to accept crypto both online and in-store, we will also provide an easy-to-use app and credit cards for those who wish to use that.

We deliver a way for people to send FIAT and receive FIAT if they want to. However $SPM will be used so the transaction will be: FIAT – converted to spm – sent – received – sold for FIAT automatically. We think this is one of the best ideas from the whole project and it’s also very liked by $SPM holders.

8. Could you shed some light on the Spaceium ICO? What are your goals associated with it?

Our biggest goal is of course to raise enough money to fulfill our promises to our holders.

We do not have the conscience to just hype it up as much as we can then take the money and leave. We’re trying to build something big, slow, and steady. It takes time to change the world.

9.  How is the Spaceium blockchain going to stand out from other blockchain projects in the crypto space?

So this is our biggest thing. We’re actually going to bring a usecase for crypto to the mainstream.

It has never been done before the way we do it and like I’ve said earlier during this interview – we believe we are the solution.

10. What are some of the future projects and milestones that you are looking forward to with regard to Spaceium?

What I personally look forward to is bringing an easy, fully usable, and decentralized payment system to poor areas around the world that have been robbed by inflation and the expensive cost to receive and send money.

I think countries, where debit cards etc aren’t used by people, will just skip that phase and hop right on Spaceium and @SPM.
