Stacks crypto jumps 13% – Could STX bulls extend the price rally?

STX rally comes under question as liquidation gap between longs and shorts remains limited.

Stacks [STX] hits 13%: Can spot accumulation sustain the rally?

Stacks [STX] has reached roughly 13% in the past day at press time, as capital flow across the Perpetual and Spot Market continued to strengthen.

In the Spot market specifically, traders had purchased more STX across multiple crypto venues and moved them into private wallets for holding as the Netflow turned negative.

Negative Netflow suggests overall accumulation, and at press time, that figure had reached roughly -$165,000 in Netflow following a $5.90 million buy.

The accumulation has been building for days. Over the past ten days, the market has seen clear accumulation, with a netflow of -$1.15 million. In the past three days, that figure reached roughly -$1.03 million, according to CoinGlass.

Moreover, continued Spot buying could increase the chances of the STX rally being sustained in the long run. For now, accumulation appears to be the most obvious trend the market could follow.

Perpetual flow sparks STX rally

The Perpetual market flow also contributed to the gains, with the Funding Rate and Open Interest (OI) both seeing positive surges that reflected on price. Notably, The Perpetual OI has surged 24%, reaching a high of $38 million at the time of writing.

A surge in capital often links to growing investor confidence, whether in short or long positions. The surge in Funding Rate suggests that investors are bullish on price and are positioning to go long on the asset.

CoinGlass reports that the Funding Rate reached a reading of 0.0101%, a trend it has maintained for days leading up to the rally, which confirms that investors are firmly bullish.

Slim liquidation gap limits conviction

The liquidation gap remains minimal in the market, suggesting that the gap between STX long and short positions remains slim.

CoinGlass shows that liquidations among short positions reached $71,000, while long-position liquidations reached roughly $54,000 in the market.

A slim gap between long and short liquidations can often reflect a lack of conviction among traders to go fully long in the market.

What is often seen in a stronger bull market is that investors are likely to accumulate more, while short traders are stop-hunted, forcing them to lose more as the trend favors long traders in the market.

Final Sumamry

  • STX gains 13% as Spot Market accumulation and negative Netflow show increased buying pressure.

  • Rising Open Interest and Funding Rate support bullish positioning, although the narrow liquidation gap shows limited conviction.
