Decoding The Graph’s 25% rally – Is $0.027 GRT’s next test?
GRT surged 25% as query migration and rising market activity strengthened The Graph’s recovery narrative.
GRT price pumped 25.58% as The Graph prepared its query migration, with spot volume jumping 530.9% to $117.1 million amid the rapidly expanding market activity.
Recently, The Graph Foundation announced its plans to move its query traffic from Subgraph Studio onto The Graph Network. Reportedly, the decentralized indexers would have an opportunity to process those queries and earn the resulting fees in GRT.
The transition would begin with BNB Smart Chain and Polygon on the 8th of October, with additional networks joining later. The foundation, however, has not yet provided dates for those migrations.
Meanwhile, the market responded by increasing participation around GRT, with the 24-hour trading volume surging to nearly $117.1 million.
The migration, therefore, could connect the expanding network usage more directly with GRT demand. Moreover, a sustained fee generation would depend on whether query activity remains elevated after the migration.
Fresh leverage floods GRT derivatives
The spot activity surge was also reflected in the derivatives, where traders dramatically expanded their exposure during GRT’s price rally.
The trading activity around the GRT derivatives soared 892.99% to $150.25 million as of writing, substantially exceeding The Graph’s reported spot volume.
Open Interest (OI) also registered an increase of 61.59%, reaching $29.74 million during the same period as traders opened fresh positions.
However, the drastic increase in OI still added another layer of sensitivity to subsequent price movements. This is because sharp price reversals could trigger the leveraged traders to unwind positions quickly.
In fact, that risk became particularly relevant as other market signals revealed an emerging resistance beneath the headline rally.

Sellers challenge the expanding rally
The Futures positioning introduced a clear counterweight to GRT’s recent rally despite the stronger market participation.
According to CryptoQuant’s market indicators, the Futures Taker CVD highlighted that the sellers still dominated the futures market.
The token’s exchange reserves, meanwhile, rose 11.45% to $49.7164 million, suggesting more GRT had accumulated across exchange wallets during the price advance.
Generally, the increase contrasted with conditions where declining reserves would reduce immediately available exchange-side supply. The additional tokens on exchanges instead could strengthen selling pressure in case demand weakens.
That concern was reinforced by the Futures as Taker Seller continued to control the order flow. Therefore, GRT faced growing supply pressure despite the steep increase in the broader trading activity.
Sellers had not, however, erased the preceding impulse move, since the price structure left a crucial demand area below the current levels.

Can $0.02716 reset the rally?
Amidst the recent price uptick, GRT pushed towards $0.036 before a price rejection triggered a retracement from the recent high.
At press time, GRT price sat around $0.0325, leaving the breakout extended above its previous crucial demand region.
Notably, the RSI indicator reached 87.09 during the expansion before retreating to 73.50. This decline highlighted overbought conditions that had started cooling as the price pulled back from resistance.
However, instead of immediately invalidating the broader recovery, further price retracement could bring GRT toward its nearby order block. This demand zone was initiated around the $0.027 to $0.028 range.
A successful retest around that zone could provide buyers with a stronger base for another recovery attempt. And in that scenario, GRT could revisit the $0.036 resistance once demand returns and selling pressure eases.
Losing $0.027, however, would weaken the recovery structure and expose the broader downside toward support at $0.01706.

Final Summary
- GRT’s 25% surge gained support from expanding spot activity and fresh leveraged positions.
- A $0.02716 retest could give GRT buyers another opportunity to revive the recovery.
