SUI holds $0.67 support as network prepares quantum-security upgrade

SUI is holding near $0.67 support, but volume indicators show limited accumulation despite Sui’s new quantum-resistance roadmap.

SUI holds $0.67 support as network prepares quantum-security upgrade

On August 11, Sui [SUI] hovered near the $0.68 mark on the price chart as the token continued to stand guard at an important support area in the wake of months of losses.

The Sui Foundation is also getting ready for the debut of additional quantum-proof security features to protect the network. Hence, the roadmap fortifies the long-term security proposal of Sui. But while the updates remain underway, it has not yet translated to stronger SUI demand.

Sui is aiming for post-quantum security

Sui Foundation will support SLH-DSA-SHA2-128s signature algorithm via Move smart contracts while introducing ML-DSA-65 as a native signature scheme.

The two standards have been accepted by the US National Institute of Standards and Technology, and Sui is aiming to make quantum-safe vaults mainnet by 2026.

Although native ML-DSA-65 accounts could possibly make their way onto testnet at the end of the year, where they could be rolled onto mainnet, perhaps in the first quarter of 2027.

These are still developmental ambitions rather than being an active feature on the mainnet. Therefore, their effects on the adoption of the network and on the demand for SUI cannot yet be quantified.

The present network activity status paints a mixed picture.

Looking at other metrics, according to DeFiLlama, the aggregate level of assets in stablecoins on Sui was roughly valued at $445 million, up by 2.15% on a 7-day basis. Volume on DEXes was up 4.78% at $157 million, while perpetuals volume fell by 17.49% on a weekly basis.

Will SUI go above $0.70?

On a daily time frame, SUI traded between $0.6719 and $0.6928, thus keeping it higher than the broader SUI support zone that sits in the mid-$0.65 to $0.67 mark.

The On Balance Volume, however, has continued turning lower, indicating that there is no sustained accumulation within the consolidation so far.

The Aroon Up reading stood at 14.29%, compared with 28.57% for Aroon Down. Neither indicates a strong directional trend, although sellers retain a modest advantage.

SUI must first reclaim $0.70 before challenging the stronger $0.75 resistance area. A sustained move above both levels would improve the recovery structure. But losing $0.65 would weaken the current support and increase the risk of further declines.

Final Summary

  • SUI did defend its $0.65-$0.67 support area, but there was little build-up detected in the volume signals.
  • Sui’s post-quantum roadmap strengthens its security proposition, although the upgrades remain under development.
