‘To assert that Cardano is a blatant scam, it’s bizarre’
Cardano partnered up with Africa in two separate projects recently to solve issues that existed in the Ethiopian and Tanzanian markets. The Ethiopian project introduced over five million people into the decentralized community, while the Tanzanian deal aimed to cater to the needs of people who were deprived of the Internet.
These two projects were, of course, massive but were allegedly not given their due credit. Highlighting the same in his recent YouTube video
, Charles Hoskinson, founder of IOHK, said,“You might not like the project… But to assert that nothing was done, or to assert that Cardano’s a blatant scam, it’s bizarre. This is not how a normal industry works.”
According to him, a prominent news editor recently took Twitter to “diminish” Cardano’s recent Ethiopian partnership. Responding to a tweet that questioned his media organization for not publishing this “important” piece of news, the editor had earlier said,
“We exist in a market where the NYT is less scrupulous about crypto “partnership” news than the industry publications.”
Calling this “a part of the broader problem in the crypto space,” Hoskinson highlighted, how, despite overwhelming evidence, Cardano was framed as though they “lied.” Even though a section of the community treated them with respect and dignity, Hoskinson was quick enough to point out,
“There are some people in the cryptocurrency space, who in the face of overwhelming evidence, have decided to respond to that, by treating us like dirt.”
He further said,
“But when such things are allowed to persist in the open domain where people said such things, they cause damage to a project, in some cases, irreparable.”
He went on to question whether or not such people realized and understood the magnitude of the allegations they levied. He asserted that it was getting hard for them to work every day because it became difficult to alter people’s perceptions after they were fed with something that was not true. He added,
“You like me or not, you may think I am a piece of human trash, but yet the response by people who occupy prominent roles in certain places in this industry are to pretend like it didn’t happen, diminish it, attack it? Grow up! Have some maturity.”
He, however, went on to thank the “haters” and “deniers” for instigating “lot more fire and passion” for them to keep moving forward.
Hoskinson highlighted that the projects Cardano had taken up aimed to change the world. He called these projects movements of “positivity and empathy.” He concluded,
“Cardano is not a cryptocurrency project. Cardano is a world operating system that plays a different game in a different industry”
