  • Bitget has listed CATS coins early, offering unique trading opportunities before the official market launch.
  • Cat-themed memecoins gain traction, but still trail behind dog-themed tokens in market value.

In a surprising development, Bitget, a major player in the cryptocurrency exchange space, has added memecoin CATS to its pre-market platform.

Bitget lists CATS crypto

This early listing offeed traders a unique chance to engage with the CATS token before its official market launch, catering to both novice and seasoned investors looking to get in on the action ahead of the curve.

Providing further information on the same, TON Degen’s X (formerly Twitter) handle noted,

“#Bitget has launched $CATS (@Cats_telegram) in pre-market trading. $CATS’s current pre-market price: $0.000729.”

Market trends

The inclusion of CATS coin on Bitget underscores the exchange’s commitment to providing early access to emerging tokens, enabling traders to capitalize on market trends before CATS becomes more broadly available.

As a meme coin closely tied to the Telegram community, CATS has rapidly gained momentum, with tokens being distributed through airdrops to users based on factors like account longevity, premium membership, and activity.

By late August 2024, CATS had attracted over 7.5 million holders, largely due to its viral success within Telegram’s mini-app ecosystem.

Bitget’s strategic move

This listing by Bitget is in line with its strategy to back projects flourishing within the Telegram and Toncoin [TON] blockchain space.

Remarking on the same, crypto enthusiasts, Omegacarlos said,

“With all the buzz around $CATS, it’s clear this project has strong potential. Even if the airdrop is limited, getting in early could be a smart move.”

Needless to say, Bitget has consistently demonstrated its support for the TON ecosystem by listing projects such as Notcoin [NOT] and Hamster Kombat [HMSTR].

In mid-2024, the exchange further solidified its commitment by launching a $20 million TON Ecosystem Fund aimed at fostering early-stage projects on the TON blockchain.

This initiative is designed to spur innovation and growth within the ecosystem.

However, another X user- Thenothinkers added a point of concern and said,

“Will $CATS steal the spotlight from $DOGS?”

In light of growing concerns, AMBCrypto conducted a comparison between the market capitalizations of top cat-themed and dog-themed memecoins.

The analysis revealed that the cat-themed memecoin market was $2.35 billion at press time, reflecting a 4.8% increase in the last 24 hours.

In contrast, the dog-themed memecoin market boasted a significantly larger market cap of $30.1 billion, with a 3.2% change over the same period.

This comparison highlighted the growing interest in cat-themed tokens, though they still lag behind their dog-themed counterparts in overall market value.
