Circle pushes USDC into 40 ’emerging’ markets as crypto liquidity hits turning point

Circle’s $1.4 billion in revenue and $36 trillion in on-chain volume put USDC’s role in Q4 liquidity in focus.

Circle pushes USDC into 40 'emerging' markets as crypto liquidity hits turning point

Could Circle’s USDC be the key catalyst for crypto’s Q4 cycle?

So far, Q4 has started with the stablecoin market cap struggling to break above the $310 billion-mark, suggesting that liquidity across the crypto market remains too weak to fuel breakout rallies.

Bitcoin’s 2.5% correction and failure to reclaim the $90K-range further reinforced this trend. So, with limited liquidity, buying pressure is low, possibly limiting the upside for the market.

Additionally, the persistent selling pressure across key Bitcoin market segments could trigger a demand-supply imbalance. With low liquidity on one side, and sell-pressure on the other, the market might find it difficult to generate enough buying power to recover strongly.

Meanwhile, DeFi activity has been flashing another warning sign.

As seen in the chart above, total value locked (TVL) across DeFi protocols has dropped by over $6 billion so far this month. This, after a $30 billion jump in Q3, sending TVL to a multi-month high of $98 billion in late September. The recent sell-off suggested that DeFi liquidity may be cooling, raising concerns about whether the market has enough fresh capital to support a “sustained” Q4 rally.

According to AMBCrypto, this is where Circle’s latest report gains credibility. The stablecoin issuer allocated around $1.4 billion in revenue in the first half of 2026. Of this, $819 million went towards USDC distribution partners and transaction costs, while $473 million was invested in infrastructure, compliance, and product development. The key takeaway? Circle is clearly investing its revenues in order to increase the adoption of USDC and strengthen its business.

So naturally, if Circle [USDC] boosts the use cases for the stablecoin and attracts more users to the ecosystem, it might drive fresh liquidity into the crypto market. The key question now is whether the “renewed” attention to the stablecoin prompts a Q3-style rally in the fourth quarter.

Can Circle’s USDC become the liquidity catalyst crypto needs in Q4?

Despite a bearish start to Q4, Circle is already using its resources to scale the adoption of USDC.

According to CEO Jeremy Allaire, the company is set to enter around 40 emerging markets in Southeast Asia, Latin America, Africa, and the Middle East, fueled by the rising organic demand for stablecoins. His remarks were supported by the data published in the company’s report, which revealed that USDC processed over $36 trillion in on-chain transaction value and around 77% of total stablecoin transaction volumes in June, compared to 60% at the same time last year.

So, as USDC adoption grows, Circle’s expansion into new markets is likely to drive its popularity.

That is why the chart below is so important. USDC market cap rose by $3 billion in the Q3, while USDT market value decreased by a half a percent. This divergence is evidence of the increasing dominance of USDC.

However, this trend didn’t play out in isolation.

Rather, USDC growth coincided with Circle’s 31% hike over the same period. This demonstrates that the two factors, namely the increase in demand for stablecoins and the development of the company’s own business, reinforce each other.

With Circle now building a similar growth narrative, a repeat of this cycle seems extremely plausible. Back then, USDC’s momentum coincided with the total crypto market cap increasing by 40%, illustrating how a rise in the usage of stablecoins can drive a bull run.

Final Summary

  • Circle’s expansion into 40 new markets could bring more liquidity into crypto.

  • USDC’s growth coincided with a 40% rise in total crypto market cap, raising hopes for another rally.
