AKT technical analysis: AI momentum fuels market optimism

Akash Network has become a standout success in the cryptocurrency sector. Its AKT coin saw an impressive appreciation of over 120% in the last year. Yet, the question looms of whether the token can replicate its success. Consequently, exploring the Akash Network price prediction could shed light on its future trajectory in 2024 and beyond.

The period commenced with the asset depreciating to its yearly low support of $0.8 by mid-September. From late October, the price made higher highs and higher lows. While the rally was briefly stalled at $3.0 between January and February, it showed no signs of abating.
 

This level was flipped bullishly by mid-February, and the price trended upwards until it reached a peak resistance of $6.0 by early March. The yearly high was tested throughout the first half of the month but eventually faced strong rejection, causing the price to settle at $3.7 in early April. This was triggered by an overbuying spree, causing exhaustion among traders.

In mid-April, buyers continued their efforts to elevate the price. This was bolstered by a major development as the South Korean exchange Upbit listed AKT. AMBCrypto reported that this catalyzed a 50% uptick in the price, pumping AKT to $7.1 in the month’s latter half.

Notably, the number of core developers working on the Akash Network had significantly increased, accompanied by a surge in code commits. This optimism carried into early May as the price retested the highest barrier. The pump could be attributed to the network's disclosure of the Q1 2024 earnings. They reported substantial growth in the AKT ecosystem, generating over $140,000 in revenue. 

Nevertheless, this retest faced rejection again. The altcoin continued to shed its gains, leading to the formation of a double top pattern. Compounding this bearish outlook was the breaking of the neckline—positioned at $3.7, which occurred by mid-June.
 

After briefly falling below $3.0, the price pumped again by July, leading to a test of the support-turned-resistance at $3.7. However, the attempt failed, pulling it to $2.1 by the end of the month.

In late August, AKT surged to challenge $3.0. AMBCrypto revealed that the network’s integration with NVIDIA’s new product, Brev, was behind this momentum. At the time of writing, the asset’s price adjusted to $2.2 after facing rejection at the previous level. 
 

Given the completion of the pattern, AKT might fall further to a price target of $1.5, suggesting a grim outlook for the asset in the near term. After that, the price might rebound. 
 

Nonetheless, given the recent integration, it might benefit greatly from the artificial intelligence (AI) hype, defying bearish expectations. A successful flip of $3.7 will bullishly reverse the market structure. A continued uptrend can drive the price back to its highest yearly resistance.

• The Directional Movement Index (DMI) highlighted the initial bullish stronghold as the ADX and +DI lines maintained dominance. The token’s downturn between March and April led to both declining while the -DI line rose. 
• However, this trend reversed as prices recovered. A similar pattern was noted in early May, culminating in the -DI line overtaking the +DI line in late July. By the end of the analysis period, the ADX stood at 26.3502, the +DI at 17.6918, and the -DI at 21.8500, indicating bearish conditions.
• The trading volume saw substantial recoveries concurrent with the bull rallies in 2023. While an increase in volume supported the uptrend in 2024, its surge did not match previous highs. Furthermore, the volume remained on the low side from mid-May.
• The 20 and 50-week Exponential Moving Averages (EMAs) served as support levels for the price, with the former dominating. However, the price dipped below the 20 EMA in June, signaling a weakening in the upward momentum.
