ScalingX and Buidlbox launch “The Hunt for X” zero-knowledge proof Hackathon

ScalingX,  a Web3 developer community and accelerator, has partnered with Buidlbox, a popular end-to-end hackathon platform, to launch “The Hunt for X” ZK Hackathon, a competitive virtual coding event that aims to explore Zero-Knowledge Proofing technology as a blockchain scaling solution. The event will run for three weeks, opening for submissions on April 12th and closing on May 5th. It will welcome developers and innovators from around the world and offer a $40,500 prize pool.

“The Hunt for X” Hackathon aims to attract top talents in the Web3 space who will work as individuals or in teams to provide solutions to empower the development of the novel niche. The event will feature judges and mentors from some of the industry’s leading organizations and projects including Coinbase, ConsenSys, and StarkWare, who will evaluate the feasibility, creativity, and potential impact of the submitted solutions. The judges and mentors for the event are:

• Sinka Gao, Founder of Delphinus Lab

In organizing the hackathon, ScalingX has also received sponsorships from 15 renowned organizations, including Spark Union, Numen Capital, CoCloud, Arpa, AELF, Web3.com Ventures, Starknet, M-Ventures, Beosin, Consensys, Infura, Reddio, Aspecta, Outlier Ventures, and Bewater, among others, to offer technical support and networking opportunities to participants.

Speaking recently, Chichi Hong, the Co-founder of ScalingX, applauded the move by the two tech organizations and explained that it is in line with the goals of Scaling X. “We are excited to partner with Buidlbox for this hackathon to showcase the potential of ZKP technology and the importance of blockchain scaling solutions.” She added, “We are committed to promoting the adoption of privacy-enhancing technologies in the blockchain space, and we believe that ZKP technology scaling can play a crucial role in achieving this goal.”

“The Hunt for X” Hackathon will feature multiple challenges each attracting different prices for the winners. The first challenge involves projects that leverage ZKP to scale the Web3 ecosystem and has a prize pool of $36,000. The second challenge involves Cairo 1.0 developer tools. Winners in this category are set to win $3,000. The third challenge involves building educational courses for Zero Knowledge and has a $1,500 prize pool. In addition to the cash reward, winners will also get incubation support, and access to funding opportunities. 

Each participant will have the opportunity to present their project to the panel on the Demo Day scheduled for May 10.
